How to reach Santiago de Compostela

By Plane:

Santiago de Compostela is directly connected by plane from:
Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Canary Islands, Malaga, Madrid, Seville, Valencia Amsterdam, Basel, Geneva, London, Milan, Paris or Zurich

The Airport of Santiago de Compostela, Rosalía de Castro, located 13 km to the east of the city and 14.5 km to the old town. From the airport, take a taxi (25 euros) or a bus line 6A (schedule 1€) to the city center. The journey between the airport and Santiago de Compostela takes about 15 minutes by taxi and 25 minutes by bus.

By Train from:

Direct daily trains connect with Madrid, San Sebastian, Henday and Barcelona. Through a single transfer, there is daily access to Bilbao, Portugal and Paris, and to almost an all major national destinations.

Regional: Trains depart approximately every hour for the main destinations in Galicia, A Corunna, Ourense and Vigo (with links to Portugal)

By Train: Santiago de Compostela railway station is at walking distance (5 minutes) from Santiago city centre and from a number of Hotels. However you might want to consider more convenient alternatives:  TAXI |  BUS

By Car:

AP-9 Atlantic Highway: connects Santiago de Compostela with A Corunna, Ferrol, Pontevedra, Vigo and Portugal

Northwest Highway A-6: connects Galicia with the rest of Spain through the province of Lugo (link with Santiago through the AP-9, near A Corunna).

Highway of  Rías Baixas A-52: connects Galicia with the rest of Spain through the province of Ourense (link with Santiago through the AP-9 in Vigo or through the N-525 in Ourense).

AP-53 / AG-53 motorway: connects Santiago with Lalín, where it connects with the AG-53 to Ourense and Madrid.

Cantabrian Highway A-8: connects Galicia with France through the Cantabrian coast (link with Santiago through the Northwest Highway A-6).
